These terms cover your use of CrustCalc (crustcalc.com). By using the site, you agree to them.
CrustCalc is provided free of charge, with no account or sign-up required. It calculates true sourdough hydration and salt from the flour, water, and starter amounts you enter, and includes a starter feeding schedule calculator, entirely in your browser.
Use CrustCalc the way it's intended to be used. In particular, don't:
CrustCalc doesn't use accounts or any storage, server-side or local. Nothing you enter is retained after you close or refresh the page — there's nothing to back up, recover, or lose.
CrustCalc's hydration and salt calculations are based on standard baker's-percentage math, including accounting for the starter's own flour and water content. While we've verified the math carefully, baking involves real variables — flour absorption, ambient humidity, altitude, and ingredient variation — that no calculator can account for. Use CrustCalc as a starting point and a time-saver, not a substitute for your own judgment and experience at the bench.
CrustCalc is built to support two ad slots served through an ad network, currently inactive. If activated, ads are subject to that network's own advertising policies in addition to these terms. See our Privacy Policy for more detail on how that would work.
CrustCalc is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CrustCalc and its creators aren't liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, including any baking outcome based on its calculations.
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of CrustCalc after a change means you accept the updated terms. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
